Lion Kanwaljit Singh Sethi

Dedicated to the service of humanitry and realizing the moto of Lionism, Lion Kanwaljit Singh Sethi belongs to Ludhiana. Born on 20th July 1958 at Ludhiana, he had his schooling basically in Ludhiana. On academic level, Lion Sethi has been a success owing to his superior intelligence, hard work & perseverance. He is a commerce graduate of Punjab University, Chandigarh. After achieving his LLB Degree, he got himself enrolled in the Bar council in the year 1987. In spite of his professional pre-occupations, he has always remained an openhearted, sincere & affectionate person. A person is judged by his life style. Lion Sethi needs no introduction for his efficient way of working; expertise and sincerity to perform the best even in the field of Lionism. He has remained dedicated during his long journey of Lionism with a streak of idealism.

Sethi embraced Lionism in 1994-95 as a Charter member and in the very next year he became the secretary of the Lions Club Ludhiana Pioneer. He becomes District Chairman in 1997-98 and finally the President in 2000-01. Moving forward on the path of Lionism, his dedication led him towards Zone Chairmanship in 2001-02. He became Member Mission Quest in 2003-04 & Region Chairman in 2004-05. His Lionistic efforts led him to the prestigious office of District Cabinet Secretary (Projects) in 2005-06 followed by I/C Region Co-ordinator, Environment in 2006-07, Committee Chairperson in 2007-08 and Deputy District Cabinet Secretary, Retention in 2008-09.

There has been no end to his Lionistic achievements represented in the term of Lionistic awards. Every Lionistic year was graced with a string of awards such as Best Secretary Award, Best President Award and Best Zone Chairman Award. He was declared the “star of the Region” in 1997-98 and received “lion of the Year Award” in 2002-03 followed by “award of Excellence” in 2003-04.

Certificates of Appreciation to his credit are 5 International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, Guiding Lion Award, 7 Extension awards, Membership Key Award, Certificate of Appreciation for Awakening Lions to Lionism (Quiz Programme), Certificate of recognition and appreciation and President’s Medal. He has attended Multiple Leadership Institute, Agra and also Multiple Leadership Institute, New Delhi, to learn more about Lionistic Values.

Professionally too, he has been recognized well. He has been Joint Secretary of the District Taxatoin Bar Association in 1984-85 & in 1989-90. He became Secretary (DTBA Sales Tax) in 2000-01 and Vice President (DTBA Sales Tax) in 2005-06. He also received Award of Appreciation from Lawyers Club and also ‘award of Honour’ from Wholesale Chemist Association. He has been Vice President of a social organization named “Geeta Charitable Sewing Centre”, Secretary Jagraon Pull welfare Society and joint Secretary og Shri Guru Amar Das Trust.

Having been blessed with a proud past, Lion Sethi is heading towards bright future by uploading the ideals of Lionism. He has a keen desire to maintain human relationship with all Lion Friends, with a vow to serve the suffering humanity to discern the glimpse of smile on their lips and a sparkle in their eyes.

Lion Sethi is happily married to Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, who is also an active Lion member. The couple is blessed with daughter Kanwalpreet Kaur Sethi, who is pursuing M.B.B.S. Course and son Harkanwal Singh, who aspires to be a Chartered Accountant.
