International Directors ISAAMEManoj Shah
Lion Manoj started his Lionistic career as a Charter Member of Lions Club Greater Nairobi in 1986. In the years to come, he has been entrusted with virtually every position of responsibility which he has handled with flair and conviction. Cabinet Secretary, Region, Zone and District SightFirst Chairperson, Secretary to 27th I.S.A.A.M.E Forum, Vice District Governor and ultimately the District Governor for the Lionistic year 2000-2001. Manoj Shah, holds a Bsc (Honours) degree in Business Administration, and is a very successful Businessman in Kenya, with business interests in the Automobile, Property and Finance sector. His list of achievements reads like a chronology of Our Association of Lions Clubs.
Lion Manoj is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and his Wife Jayna is also a dedicated Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow. They are proud parents of two daughters Priyum and Soyum. Sheikh Kabir Hossain
Sheikh Kabir Hossain was born in a respectable Sheikh family of Gopalgonj District in Bangladesh. He obtained Masters Degree from the Dhaka University. His father late Khan Shaheb Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain was a renowned social worker of national fame and was a member of the Parliament. Inspired by the idealism of his father Sheikh Kabir Hossain devoted himself to social work. By profession Sheikh Kabir is the Chairman of Sonarbangla Insurance Ltd., N. R. Construction Pvt. Ltd., Kabico Ltd. and Director of Jing Ling Chinese Restaurant. A Lion since 1976 and member of the Dhaka Down Town Lions Club, Sheikh Kabir Hossain has held many offices within the association, including Club President, District Chairperson, Region Chairperson, Cabinet Treasurer, Vice District Governor, District Governor and Council Chairperson. In addition, he served as a Member of the Bangladesh Lions Foundation, as a District Co-ordinator of the Sight First Campaign, Vice Chairman of ISAAME Area Forum and as a participant in Ten International Convention, many Southeast Asian Forums, as well as, several relief and service operations. In recognition of his service to the association Lion Hossain has received numerous Awards, including Extension Awards, the 100% Attendance Award, the Membership Growth Award, a 20-year Membership Award, the 100% Club President s Award, the Guiding Lion Awards, the District Governor s Appreciation Award, the District Governor s Commendation Award, the District Governor s Special Extension Award, five International President s Certificates of Appreciation, a Founder Membership Growth Award, four International President s Leadership Awards, Presidential Special Extension Award and four International President s Medals. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition, to his Lion activities, Sheikh Kabir Hossain is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a life member of the Bangladesh National Society for Blindness, the Bangladesh Family Planning Association, Bangladesh Red Crescent/Red Cross Society and the Bangladesh Lions Foundation. He is Vice Chairman of the Ispahani Eye Hospital in Dhaka. Chairperson of the Governing Body of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Degree College. He served as Chairperson of the Bangladesh Red Crescent/Red Cross Society, President of Governing Body of Ideal College, founder of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College in Dhaka and Khan Shaheb Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain Higher Secondary School. For his outstanding social activities he obtained (1) Gold Medal 2000 on Shamaj Sheba (Service for Society) and (2) Gold Medal 2000 on Manabsheba (Service for Humanity). He has widely traveled abroad in U.S.A., Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Nirobi, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Switzerland, Netherlands, Bahrain, Luxenberg and Pakistan. Lion Hossain and his wife Masuda, also a Lion, have one daughter Rumpa, two sons Sk. Mushfeque Kabir (Oavi), Sk. Mosadeque Kabir (Oani). They have one grandson Tarif. K.G. RAMAKRISHNA MURTHY
Lion K G Ramakrishnamurthy elected as International Director (2006-2008) at 89th International Convention held at Boston, USA from 30th June to 4th July 2006. Lion K G Ramakrishnamurthy called as KGR Joined Lionism during 1984 became the Charter Secretary of Lions Club of Coimbatore Gandhipuram during 1985 in Dist 324 B1. As club Secretary received all awards at club and District level and stood as the most popular Lion of the Multiple 324 during 1985-86. He was selected as the Best Secretary of the Multiple and awarded with Vispy Minoo Engineers Rolling Trophy. Served as President during 1987-88 and was adjudged as the best President of Dist. and Multiple. Became Cabinet Secretary during 1988-89 and adjudged as the Best Cabinet Secretary. Architect of redistricting proposal of existing 324 B into Bl, B2, B3, and B4... Recipient of 100% attendance award, Extention Award, Guiding Lion Award and Lion Service Award for reviving Status Quo Clubs and membership key awards. Served as Region Chairman, Dist. Chairman Leadership and Extension. Elected to serve as District Governor during 1993-94 for the District 324 B1. Responsible for motivating; designing and sponsoring 75 clubs i.e., 25 during cabinet secretary 25 during DC Extension and 25 during District Governor. Specially involved in motivation and supporting LCIF projects for various districts and supported more than 25 projects around the Multiple 3245. Elected to serve as Multiple Council Chairman of MD 324 during 1994-95 the largest Multiple of the world and worked on the specific goal of bringing more members b7 designing a core team at all District level and obtained 3600 mark an all time record for the past 10 years in MD 324.
He was involved actively with Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Southern India Engineering Manufacturers Association, Coimbatore District Small Scale Industries Association. Tamilnadu Weights and Measures Manufacturers Association, Coimbatore Management Association, Public Relations Society of India Coimbatore Chapter, Coimbatore Kerala Club and Life patron of YMCA. Active member of Coimbatore Blood Donors association and Red Cross Society of India. A diploma holder in Mechanical engineering after serving in an English firm for more than a decade started his own firm KG Equipment and Hero High Tech Scales Limited manufacturing Mechanical and Electronic Weighing Machines. Presently involved in Insurance consultancy. KGR a Melvin Jones Fellow married to Meera who is also a Lion having a Son Kaarthick working with World Bank and a Daughter Poornima working with Infosys. KGR was endorsed unanimously for the office of International Director at the MD Convention of MD 324 at XXXII Annual Convention at Hyderabad during 2005. Presently he is a member of Lions Club of Madras Metro East in District 324 A6. Enjoy Lionism is his concept and Lionism is his way of Life. The Charter President of Lions Club of Annur Town in District 314-B1 Lion G.Ramaswamy (GR) has held many positions within the Association including Zone Chairman ,District Governor ,Multiple Committee Chairman of LCIF ,Sight First and Convention through various years ,Chairman Lions Co-ordination committee of India ,International Director (1996-98)and Board Committee appointee(1999-2000 & 2005-2006).Presently he has been appointed as the Board Appointee on the International Board by International President Jimmy Ross. He was the Chairman of ISAAME Forum and was nominated as a member of the Credential Committee at the 74th International Convention held in Brisbane , Nominating Committee Member at the 82nd , 85th & 86th International Conventions ,Resolution Committee Member at the 83rd & 84th International Convention held at Honolulu and Indianapolis respectively .At present he is the Chairperson of National Sight First Committee. Lion GR is the recipient of numerous Awards and recognitions in Lionism including 100% Governor Excellence in Effort in Sight First, International President's Awards continuously for 11 years between 1989 -2000. Presidents' Certificates of Appreciation and Leadership Award .To crown it all he has received the "AMBASSADOR OF GOODWILL" Award during 1998. He is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow with 22 Diamonds. Lion GR is the Managing Trustee of Annur Manneeswaraswamy Temple and Karivaratharaja Perumal Temple and the Trustee of KG Group of Educational Trust which runs two High Schools and two Matriculation Higher Secondary Schools and Medical Trust which runs a 250 bedded super specialty Hospital. Lion GR is an active member of Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club, Madras Cosmopolitan Club, Coimbatore Golf Club. Madras Race Club and Lawley Institute of Ooty. He is the President of Coimbatore Table Tennis Association. Lion GR is a member of the well known KG Group of Companies worth US $ 150 Million having an annual turnover of US $ 160 Million . He is the Managing Director of the Kadri Mills (cbe )Limited and Director of numerous companies. Lion GR's achievements and contributions towards social , educational and religious fields have earned him a "Cavalier" recognition. His contribution towards "the Development of Small Scale Industries and Management Techniques" has earned him a Doctorate in Industrial Management. Lion GR and his wife Shanthamani , a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow have 2 Sons , Annush an Engineering Graduate, who has been married to Shree Vyshnavi and Ashyanth a Commerce Graduate who has been married to Anusha.All of them are Lion members. His two sons are qualified MBA's. GR is blessed with two granddaughters, Shambavi ,the daughter of Annush and Shivani , the daughter of Ashyanth. |
